Burning Sage: Some Christians Repel the Idea, Others Embrace It

Y’all know how I feel about organized religion. How I feel about bowing down to and worshiping a man (woman, human, man). Now, I listen. I hear what my brothers and sisters have to say. But at the end of the day, God’s voice is loudest and will always have a stronger hold when it comes to my decisions.

That’s why I pray ON EVERYTHING.

That said: I burn sage in my home. I burn incense. I have crystals. My philosophy is this: God made them all. They are part of his earth. They are plants. They are stones. They carry vibrations that can regulate and comfort. In the same way an onion can pull out toxins, a red jasper can bring calmness. Do I worship them? No. Do I use them in pagan practices or witchcraft? No.

Now, whether you (a fellow human) perceive it that way is up to you. That is what makes for beautiful conversation. Anyway, I found this article and wanted to share it with you to ponder. What do you think? How do you feel? I think the writer did a beautiful job touching on all perspectives when it comes to burning sage in Christianity.

Food for thought. Love you.
