You've Gotta Be More Mindful of Your Fight/Flight Responses

You've Gotta Be More Mindful of Your Fight/Flight Responses

Lifestyle modification and relaxation.

I had a question during my LIVE this week and it was “how can I get out of this constant state of fight or flight?” That hit me because I remember asking God the same question. My answer to the commenter was something along the lines of “its all about shifting your perspective. Its your mindset, I’m telling ya. Then, you start making small, different choices each day that eventually lead to a complete lifestyle change. This then becomes your new standard for living.”

I think its crucial that we all understand how stress affects our body. How each moment we are in that flight state of being… or fight state of mind… we are affecting more than just our mood. Its literally impacting our entire body; organs, blood, hormones… all of it.

Everything is connected. You’re going to get so sick of hearing me say this.

When our brain recognizes a situation to be dangerous, it sends messages to our muscles and organs giving them commands to act a certain way. These messages travel through our nerves. This, my love, is our nervous/muscular system.

Our heart then does what? It beats faster. It pumps blood to those muscles and we start sweating. This is our circulatory system.

Our breathing then changes because our bronchial tubes are expanding. More air is being drawn in and our breathing rhythm changes via our respiratory system.

Our digestion system is even affected as it slows down.

Our bodies then increase the production of hormones like adrenaline and noradrenaline therefore affecting our hormonal system.

So when I tell you its crucial that you begin becoming aware of your state of being, I mean it. I can help you do that, too. By being a friend for you. An outlet. By helping you start journaling (check out the Main Hub each day for updated affirmations and prompts).

Hell, I can hold you accountable and give you tips on how to become a more mindful person so you can start choosing your responses more methodically when faced with adversity. Whatever you need.

Just know that I love you. And that all I want is for you, me, and my family to lead happy, healthy lives full of purpose.

Fuck Big Pharma. You can do this.

Kapeesh?
