I could write about all the times you showed up for me.
But, the justification of those times is where the lie would be.

I could write about all the beautiful moments we shared.
But, the fights that happened after always take over the air.

I could write about the day we met.
But, int hat, is the reason why I left.

I could write about all the pretty things you’ve said.
But, it’s the harsh words that echo loudest in my head.

I could write about all the hardships we’ve overcome.
But, the fact it’s a predictable pattern makes me numb.

I could write about that one time, everything was perfect.
But, it was just offsetting the red flags I pocketed.

I could write about what a good person you are.
But, that truth only stretches so far.

Credit where credit is due.
But, even that sometimes is a lie too.
