This Bird Thing Is Cool AF - Do You Know What It's Called?
MURMURATION: a large group of birds, usually starlings, that all fly together and change direction together, or the act of birds doing this:
I'm not going to lie to you: ya girl is a little nature nerd (hello, Virgo). I love sitting outside with a hot cup of coffee in the morning while I watch all the birdies do their thing.
In the background, I have my bamboo wind-chimes that sing to me. It’s truly my little slice of Heaven. We have so many unique birds here in North Carolina - it’s like my property is a Nat Geo set.
(We probably had these cool birds in Ohio and I was just “too busy” to give a fuck. Either way, I have always wondered what these things are called). You know, when birds fly together in a super organized synchronized way as if they spent hours in the studio practicing their routine!
I researched it a bit and found this out about this bird phenomena.
When they move like that, it’s called a murmuration, and it’s absolutely beautiful! It makes ya wonder what else all of God’s creatures can do, ya know what I mean?
Have you ever witnessed a murmuration in real life?
